When our beloved old cat Quentin let us know it was time for us to say goodbye, I wanted a home euthanasia, where we could let him go gently in the comfort of his own home, and make his final moments as relaxed and peaceful as possible. We were recommended Alice by our vets, and she was able to come out within 24 hours which was a great blessing, as he had declined quickly and we didn’t want him to risk things ending in an emergency vet trip with him in pain and distress. Alice was kind and helpful in all communication leading up to the appointment, advising us on what medication to give him through the day to make things as easy as possible, and kept us informed of when he was on her way and her expected arrival time. She was incredibly kind and gentle both with us and also with Quentin, and very sensitive, not making it feel hurried at any point and letting us say when we were ready for each step. As deeply painful as it was to say goodbye to our beautiful boy, Alice made the experience as easy as it could have been and I was very glad we took the decision to say our final goodbyes at home. Alice made all the arrangements directly with the crematorium and took Quentin there herself. She took him resting gently in a basket with a blanket laid over him, and it gave us comfort that he was treated with dignity and care right to the very end and beyond. I am so pleased that I contacted Alice about our older cat, Titan, when he was very ill and diagnosed with a lump in his lung. We didn’t think he was going to get through this and I wanted him to be as comfortable as possible. Alice gave Titan a really thorough examination and asked lots of questions to put together a plan for him. She made Titan instantly feel at ease with her kind and gentle manner and he’s normally a very defensive cat with vets. We have implemented the changes to Titan’s care and extended his course of antibiotics and he has made a massive improvement. We are so happy with the care Titan has received and we are much more informed as how we can help him be as healthy as possible. From the very first moment we contacted Dr Alice, she showed such kindness, patience, and understanding. We weren’t quite ready at first, and she never rushed us—she simply reassured us that she would be there whenever the time felt right. When that moment finally came, Dr Alice was honestly like an angel. She arrived so calmly and gently, speaking softly and guiding us through every step. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do as a family, but Dr Alice made an unbearable moment gentler, calmer, and filled with compassion. We could not have asked for a better person to support us through it. We are forever grateful. If you ever find yourself needing this kind of support, I cannot recommend Dr Alice highly enough. She has seen my two cats for a year or so, they were two rescues with a lot of niggly health issues. From the first visit instantly felt her warmth and care and expertise.
