Frequently Asked Questions
What is holistic veterinary care, and how is it different from a traditional vet visit?
Show

For me, holistic veterinary care means looking at your pet as a whole—body, mind, emotions, lifestyle, and environment. Instead of a brief appointment focused mainly on symptoms, my home consultations are around 60 minutes, giving us the time to explore your concerns in depth, understand the full picture of your pet’s health and get to the root of the problem.
What makes my approach unique is that I combine holistic and traditional veterinary medicine. I offer acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional and supplement guidance, natural therapies, laser therapy, and lifestyle support, while also drawing on my full conventional medical training. When appropriate, I can also provide written prescriptions for traditional medications, ensuring your pet receives truly balanced, integrated care.
I am fully independent and not affiliated with any clinic or supplier, allowing me to give unbiased recommendations from a wide range of trusted providers.
I work closely with your primary vet and share a detailed report after each consultation so we can support your pet together, ensuring coordinated, safe, and comprehensive care.
What conditions can holistic care help with?

I can support almost any condition that your traditional vet would address—except for emergencies or surgery. Holistic care is particularly helpful for chronic illnesses, digestive problems, allergies, skin and ear issues, cancer support, pain and mobility concerns, respiratory conditions, senior and palliative care, behavioural challenges, anxiety, and many other long-term or recurring problems. My aim is always to improve comfort, wellbeing, and quality of life using a gentle, integrative approach.

Yes, I am a fully qualified veterinary surgeon and a Member of the RCVS (7102314), with extensive additional training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, laser therapy, and holistic treatments. Your pet’s wellbeing is always my highest priority.
Does my pet insurance cover your fees?

My consultations are covered just like traditional vet visits, and most insurers now also include online appointments. Many policies also cover Gentle Home Euthanasia and complementary therapies such as acupuncture, depending on your plan.
Do you have a physical clinic?

I currently offer home visits and online consultations that last 60+ minutes. Seeing your pet in the comfort of their own home helps them feel more relaxed and gives me a clearer understanding of their daily environment, allowing the care to be more personalised and gentle.
Do you collaborate with my regular vet?

Yes, absolutely. I send a full report after each consultation and am very happy to work with your primary vet to ensure your pet receives safe, coordinated, and comprehensive support.
Do you offer emergency or out-of-hours services?

I’m not able to provide emergency care. For urgent concerns, your primary vet or the nearest emergency hospital will be the best place to help your pet quickly and safely.
What are the benefits of Gentle Home Euthanasia?

Gentle Home Euthanasia allows your pet to remain calm and comfortable in a familiar place, surrounded by the people and scents they love. There is no stressful travel, no waiting room, and no unfamiliar clinical environment.
Traditional vet appointments can sometimes feel rushed or overwhelming for pets—especially those who are anxious, in pain, or unwell. A home setting creates a peaceful, private, and unhurried experience, giving you the space to hold your companion and say goodbye in the way that feels right for your family.
I also support you with arranging aftercare, including transport to the crematorium and the choice between individual cremation (with ashes returned) or communal cremation (no ashes returned) – whichever feels most appropriate for you and your beloved pet.
